ABSTRACT

This article aims to understand how supermarket chains in Brasília (DF) faced the covid-19 pandemic and which strategies were used to adapt to changes in trade and consumption. The methodology of the study consisted in a selection of the ten largest supermarket chains in number of stores of the Supermarket Association of Brasília (ABRAS). At the beginning of the pandemic with the closing of free fairs and public markets, the population was compelled to consume in supermarkets. In response, retail chains have invested massively in increasing e-commerce and ominicality. It was verified in Brasilia the incentive to purchase on the websites and in own applications concomitantly with the inauguration of physical stores. Another measure was the renovation and modernization of stores with the provision of service and delivery services. The research concludes that the hybrid character of the physical and the digital demonstrates the centrality of the spatialities of consumption complexified with the advent of the pandemic opening the possibility of new research agendas whose participation in geography becomes fundamental. ABSTRACT

We utilized a mixed-methods design to understand how a national sample of 589 school counselors adapted their approach to address K–12 students' academic, social/emotional, and career development during the COVID-19 pandemic. More specifically, we examined how COVID-19–induced disparities influenced school counselors' delivery of services. We identified six themes using thematic analysis and conducted a t test to further understand what services and strategies counselors were actively using 6 months after the onset of COVID-19. Our findings suggest that school counselors continued to adjust their comprehensive school counseling programs to address pandemic-induced disparities. ABSTRACT

With the development of mankind and growth of our civilization, more and more need is felt for exploration of and working in hazardous environments. The fast development of technology and capability to perform complex computing has made it possible for mankind to remotely perform some work which would otherwise require manual working in close proximity of hazardous environment. Thus mankind has been able to develop remotely controlled vehicle to explore the hazardous environment. A semi-autonomous Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) is developed in the present work. A webcam and sensors mounted on the ROV transmits the picture of the immediate neighbourhood and data collected by sensors, to the computer stationed in a remote control room using a Arduino and a few other modules. The picture and sensor data are presented to the operator by a Man Machine Interface. The operator remotely controls the movement of the ROV using a Joystick interfaced to the computer. The ROV has been successfully tested in an infectious disease ward ( like covid ward) of a hospital to deliver medicine, food, clothes and goods to the patients who are suffering from infectious disease by a health care person controlling the ROV from a remote control room. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Pandemic Covid-19 has had an impact not only on health aspects but also on the economy of Indonesia, both from demand and supply. Problems in Indonesia's government, such as the lack of medical equipment and supporting facilities in handling Covid-19 pandemics, have triggered the need for a sudden (urgent/emergency). On the other hand, there are still many distributor companies that have no experience in handling emergencies. One of the impacts is the delivery of goods that are not on time /late. To solve the problem, this study aims to get a process business in a distributor company with more effective and efficient processes by involving intercompany to increase the timeliness of delivery to customers. We propose using BPR (Business Process Reengineering) and simulation to model and analyze the current process and redesign the repair process. The results were obtained, with the average procurement of goods decreased by 46%. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The current declining economic situation in Indonesia is caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Housewives must continue to shop for food raw materials and at the same time must protect themselves from the interaction of people around to avoid transmission of Covid-19. This research is to provide a web-based application for the community, especially housewives and family members, to shop for food raw materials that are sold from merchants in local location. The purchase and delivery of goods will be carried out by a courier from the local government. The research method used is mixed method through quantitative, and development method used is Waterfall. The results obtained from this study are that housewives are helped to shop for food raw materials safely and easily through this application. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The demand and need of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles is rising day by day. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are used in various areas including, search and rescue, delivery of goods, remote sensing, monitoring of traffic, surveillance in the construction and infrastructure. In the past pandemic situation of COVID-19, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles played an important role by delivering of medicines and essential goods to the needy people. It also helped to check for the congestion in a particular area. We present the key areas where Unmanned Aerial Vehicles can be used and can be an important asset in the future. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 that hit the world had an impact on the economy, especially in the trade sector, one of which was experienced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Hanura Takeaway (Haway) is an SME engaged in the delivery of goods and food. To facilitate transactions for goods and food delivery services, it is necessary to develop applications that simplify the transaction process. In developing web services, it is necessary to exchange data that is accessed via standard internet protocols. Therefore, we need a web service in developing this application. Implementing a RESTful API web service will certainly facilitate the development of software applications outside the system or with different programming languages or platforms. This research will develop web service architecture using RESTful API in Takeaway application. To optimize the URI, several parameters are used, including filtering, sorting, selection and pagination. The Takeaway application consists of a website as a backend and an Android-based as a frontend. From the test results based on the function method using the Postman application, it shows that the REST API Sever built on the server has been running well. In testing the response time using the Apache JMeter application, the application shows a good response time. Meanwhile, the comparison of responses and requests to SOAP and REST architectures shows that REST takes faster time. © 2021 IEEE.
